Welcome to Tech-Aid.Established in 2002, The Tech-Aid Institute is an award-winning company that focuses on promoting and developing the use of computer-based learning tools for people with intellectual disabilities (ID). We specialize in the development of interactive multi-media software programs designed to challenge and positively affect the life experience of people with intellectual disabilities. As leaders in our field, Tech-Aid was one of the first companies in the world to start developing interactive CD-ROMs that focus on Preventing Respiratory Illnesses for this special, but often forgotten population of people. Some national acclaim and recognition for our unique and powerful work includes recently being awarded three prestigious Bronze Telly Awards for our project, Live Smart Live Safe: Preventing Respiratory Illness, in the categories of Health and Wellness, Multimedia, and Use of Graphics. We are also currently working in these areas: Under the leadership of our Founder and President, Dr. Jennifer Wells, we continue to expand our research areas, encompassing more and more of the many and critical public health issues that face people with intellectual disabilities. We are also excited to have been part of the Special Olympics Oregon Youth Games 2009! Tech-Aid was featured in the Parent’s Pavilion on the Nike Campus in Beaverton, Oregon on September 26th, 2009. We hope to share our life-changing interactive software with all 50 states as we continue our outreach efforts. We hope you'll find the information on this site useful and informative. We encourage you to check back regularly to learn more about our company and the services we provide. We look forward to working with you. |
