What the Product Teaches

A CD-ROM computer program for independent use and video DVD for group settings or at-home review are designed to help people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities 1) understand germs and germ transmission, 2) become more aware of cold and flu symptoms, 3) be able to monitor their symptoms with a digital thermometer, and 4) to seek medical attention for cold and flu symptoms when appropriate.

Personalized Pictorial Health Map

The Health Map includes a match-to-sample fever guide, a place to write down important information (e.g., medications, physician name, pharmacy name), a sample shopping list to provide examples of the types of non-perishable foods to have on hand, and a map of cold and flu symptoms. The Health Map is intended for use with the program and in the day-to-day activities of the individuals.
